Engine difficult to start or doesn't start: Fuel filter plugged. Change filter element. Air in fuel system. Bleed fuel system. Defective injection nozzle. Install a new kit of correctly balanced nozzles. Fuel injection pump is defective. Repair or change injection pump.
Engine stalls while running: Wrong setting of fuel injection pump timing. Adjust fuel injection pump as required. Fuel filter element is clogged. Replace the filter element. Low coolant temperature. Warm up engine as required.
