Case 1845 Skid Steer Troubleshooting

The Case 1845 skid steer loader driveline system components: Case 188D 4-cylinder diesel engine with a rated power of 49 hp (36.5 kW) or Case 159G 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a rated power of 49 hp (36.5 kW), and 1-speed hydro transmission. The hydraulic system has a pump with a rated capacity of 16.8 gal/min (63.6 l/min). The system pressure is 2250 psi (155 bar). The Case 1845 is equipped with a reduction final drive, 80HT roller chains, and 7.5x16 or 12x16.5 tires. The loader has a boom lifting force of 3120 lbs (1415 kg) and bucket breakout force of 3250 lbs (1475 kg). The rated operating capacity is 1700 lbs (770 kg), and tipping load is 3120 lbs (1325 kg).

Engine Troubleshooting

Engine hard to start or doesn't start

There is air in the fuel system - Bleed the system.
Fuel filter element is dirty - Filter maintenance required.
Defective or clogged injection nozzle - Service or change injection nozzles.
Dirt or water in fuel system - Drain water or flush dirt from the system.
Valve clearance is not correct - Need to adjust valve clearance.

Starter motor turns slow

Starter will not crank
