Engine overheated: Clogged radiator core or damaged radiator cap. Change cap or clean radiator. Low coolant level. Refill to the correct level and inspect system for leaks. Loose or damaged fan belt. Belt change is required. Insufficient engine oil. Add oil to the engine crankcase.

Hydraulic system overheats: Improper type of hydraulic oil. Use the proper type of oil. Hydraulic fluid is contaminated. Fill up with new hydraulic fluid. There is air in the hydraulic system. Bleed hydraulic system. Main relief valve is faulty. Change relief valve.

Hard Steering: Steering column or steering knuckle sticking. Check steering knuckle and column, change damaged components. Worn steering box components. Repair steering box. Drag link or tie rod failure. Rebuild or change. Insufficient oil in steering gearbox. Fill up the steering oil. Not adjusted toe-in. Tires are incorrectly inflated. Inflate as required.

Tractor pulls to left or right: Steering linkage parts are loose or worn. Change or repair steering linkage. Steering knuckle bushing is damaged. Replace knuckle bushing. Front tires are worn unevenly. Install new tires. Improper toe-in adjustment. Adjust toe-in wheels properly.

Ford 1300 Electrical System Troubleshooting

Battery is not charging: Corroded or loose electrical wire connections. Service or tighten connections. Electrical terminal connectors are defective. Replace terminal connectors. Worn-out battery. Change the battery. Belt is loose or defective. Install a new belt or adjust belt tension.
