Engine starts up hard or doesn't start: Dirty fuel filter. Replace filter element. Air in the fuel pipes. Bleed the fuel pipes. Fuel injection nozzles are clogged or faulty. Check and replace nozzles if required. Fuel injection pump is faulty. Install a new pump or rebuild.

Engine stalls after running: Incorrect adjustment of fuel injection pump timing. Set the fuel pump timing correctly. Fuel filter element is clogged. Service or replace the filter. Coolant temperature is low. Warm up to required temperature.

Diesel starts but immediately stops: Fuel filter plugging. Service the filter. Fuel injection pump is damaged. Change or repair the pump. Dirty air filter. Replace air filter element.

Engine is overheated: Defective radiator cap or clogged radiator core. Replace cap or clean radiator. Lack of engine coolant. Fill the cooling system and check components for leaks or other faults. Fan belt is worn or faulty. Install new fan belt. Insufficient engine oil. Fill up the engine oil.

Ford TW-25 Electrical System Troubleshooting
