John Deere 5045E Maintenance Information

John Deere 5045E Service Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Check transmission fluid level. If the transmission fluid is too low, add it.

Checking air filter element. Change if necessary.

Check engine coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine idle speed, steering unit, service brakes and hand brake. Repair any damage if required.

Every 50 Hours

Check tyre pressure. If the tyre pressure is low, inflate the tyres.

Check the battery. Clean if required.

Check front axle oil level. Fill as required.

Check hydraulic system fluid level. If necessary, add hydraulic oil to the system.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Check tractor for loose or lost nuts and screws.

Every 250 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended oil type - Plus-50 II or 15W40 API classification CJ-4. How much to add - 8.5 L (2.24 gal). Add oil to the upper mark on the dipstick.

Replace oil filter. Oil filter part number: RE519626. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is recommended. When installation is complete, check the oil level. Add oil if required. Replace after initial 100 hours, then every 250 hours or annually

Transmission/hydraulic oil change. Recommended fluid type: Hy-Gard. How much to pour: for Sync Shuttle transmission - 38 L (10 gal), for PowrReverser transmission - 43.5 L (11.5 gal). After completing the filling procedure, check transmission/hydraulic fluid level.

Change transmission/hydraulic oil filter. Oil filter part number: RE45864. When installation is complete, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. Add fluid if required.

Engine primary air filter elements replacement. Air filter element part number: RE282286.

Inspect the secondary air filter element and change if necessary. Part number: RE282287.

Clean radiator grill from dirt.

Check fan/alternator belt tension. Adjust as required.

Check the torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Inspection and service of the cab recirculation air filter. Filter part number - RE195491. Clean after every 500 hours and change every 1200 hours.

Clean cab fresh air filter. Part number - RE198488. Clean annually and as required per conditions.

Change diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: RE60021. Check the correct operation of injection pump.

Check the diesel particulate filter (DPF). Replace as required. Part number: RE567056.

Check cooling system for leaks. Top up if coolant is low.

Check engine low idle speed. Adjust if necessary.

Check and tighten all hoses and clamps.

Change front axle lubricant.

Adjust service and parking brakes.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling system capacity: 9.5 L (2.5 gal).

Check all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery charge.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injectors.
