Attaching H120 loader to John Deere
1026R tractor - Ensure that all hydraulic fittings are
free of dirt. Start the engine. Drive forward and position JD 1026R
tractor between the loader booms. Apply the park brake and shut off the
engine. Place the hydraulic hose bundle in the guide. Route the hoses
over the mounting frame and connect hydraulic couplers using color-coded
caps and plugs.
Key A - Dust Cap/Plug Color - Black. Hydraulic Function - Bucket
Cylinder-Rod End
Key B - Dust Cap/Plug Color - Yellow. Hydraulic Function - Bucket
Cylinder-Head End
Key C - Dust Cap/Plug Color - Blue. Hydraulic Function - Lift
Cylinder-Head End
Key D - Dust Cap/Plug Color - Red. Hydraulic Function - Lift
Cylinder-Rod End
Connect color-coded caps and plugs together. Retract lift cylinders
until mast pins are seated in saddles on both sides. As masts are tilted
back, mounting frame pins open latches and then return them to the
locked position. Parking stand automatically raises to the stored
position under the tractor during the procedure. Dump the bucket and
retract lift cylinders until the loader masts move back and latches
contact mounting frame pins, causing them to open. Continue retracting
lift cylinders until latches return to the locked position. Verify that
latches are fully engaged on both sides and parking stand is in the
stored position under the tractor frame.
Detach JD H120 Loader
- Remove the ballast box. Ensure that the John Deere H120 loader is
equipped with a materials bucket. Start the engine. Release the park
brake or place the transmission in NEUTRAL. Dump the bucket
approximately 20° and lower the boom to the ground. To raise the front
wheels 25-50 mm (1-2 in) off the ground, retract lift cylinders. Push
upward on the handle to disengage the latch. Repeat on the opposite
side. Extend lift cylinders until the parking stand contacts the ground
and mast pins lift out of mounting frame saddles.
Retract bucket cylinders until latches automatically return to the
locked (down) position.
Engage 1026R tractor park brake or place the transmission in PARK. Shut
off engine and remove ignition key. Relieve the hydraulic pressure from
the system. Move the hydraulic control lever back-and-forth and
side-to-side several times. Disconnect hydraulic hoses from the tractor:
Push back the collar on the female coupler and pull out the male
coupler. Install the dust plug in the female coupler and cap on the male
coupler. Repeat for the remaining couplers. Remove the hydraulic hose
bundle from the guide on the inside right-hand mast. Store the hoses on
the lift cylinder. Slowly back the tractor away from the loader.
Detach and Attach Quik-Change
Attachments - The procedure is the same for all
attachments. Start the engine. Release the park brake and place the
transmission in NEUTRAL. Roll back the bucket slightly and raise the
boom
approximately 460 mm (18 in) above the ground. Engage the park brake and
place the transmission in PARK. Shut off engine and remove ignition key.
Remove the quick-lock pin from each side of the bucket. Store quick-lock
pins in the storage position. Start the engine. Extend bucket cylinders
until the bucket pin releases from the holder strap on each side of the
bucket. Lower the boom, place the transmission in REVERSE and move away
from the bucket. Holder releases from the hook on each side of the
bucket. Set the park brake or place the transmission in PARK. Shut off
engine and remove ignition key. Attach in reverse order.

Attaching 260 Backhoe To John Deere
1026R Tractor - Back JD 1026R tractor up until
approximately 20 cm (8 in.) from backhoe. Park tractor safely. Route
backhoe hydraulic hoses through hose guide and connect to hoses from
tractor. Remove backhoe boom lock pin. Back tractor closer to 260
backhoe and use backhoe control levers to align backhoe frame with
backhoe mounts on tractor. Use pins to secure backhoe to tractor: Use
stabilizer control levers to raise or lower stabilizers as needed to
position notches in backhoe frame above mount hooks. Reposition tractor
hooks under notches. Use stabilizer control levers to lower stabilizers
until notches rest in hooks.
Use boom control lever to rotate 260 backhoe to align top holes, and
install pins. Check to be sure hydraulic hoses are routed away from
pinch points. Remove backhoe swing lock pin. From the operator's seat,
bleed the system by doing the following: Raise and lower stabilizers.
Raise and lower boom. Extend and retract dipperstick. Curl and dump
bucket. Swing boom from side to side. Install swing lock pin and boom
lock pin. Park tractor safely. Bleed Hydraulic System - Run engine at
low idle. Check to be sure operating area is clear. Operate control
levers to move all cylinders several times until backhoe runs smoothly.

Adjusting Deck Height
- Ensure that the 60D mower deck is level. Raise the mower deck fully
and measure the mower stop-to-tractor frame gap between the mower lift
stop and the tractor frame. Compare the measurement to specification:
Mower Stop-to-Tractor Frame Gap Distance - 3 mm (0.125 in.). If the
mower stop-to-tractor frame gap is to specification, the deck adjustment
is complete. If adjustments are needed beyond this point, perform the
deck side-to-side and the front-to-rear procedures after the mower
stop-to-tractor frame gap is successfully set. If the mower
stop-to-tractor frame gap cannot be achieved, the rockshaft linkage and
or the lift strap linkage are out of adjustment. If the mower
stop-to-tractor frame gap is not to specification: Lower the 60-inch
mower deck to the ground. Stop the engine and remove key.
Wait for the engine and all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operator seat. Remove the retaining pins and pivot pin securing both
turnbuckles to the lift arms. To reduce the gap, shorten the turnbuckle
assemblies an equal number of turns. To increase the gap, lengthen the
turnbuckle assemblies an equal number of turns. Install the turnbuckles
on the lift arms. Raise the 60" mower deck fully, stop engine, and
remove key. Measure the mower stop-to-tractor frame gap between the
mower lift stop and the tractor frame. Compare the measurement to
specification: Mower Lift Stop-to-Tractor Frame Gap (Distance) - 3 mm
(0.125 in.). Repeat steps a - i until mower stop-to-tractor frame gap is
to specification. Perform the side-to-side and the front-to-rear
adjustment procedure.
