Attaching 410 Loader - Drive JD 4115 tractor slowly, straight into 410 loader. Align masts with rear frames. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park". Shut off tractor engine and remove key. Move control lever(s) back and forth and side-to-side (if applicable) several times to relieve system pressure. Connect color-coded couplers on hoses matching numbers and/or colors on decal by coupler plate: Red or Silver (Head-End Bucket Cylinder) - Silver (Port No.2). Yellow (Rod-End Bucket Cylinder) - Yellow (Port No.1). Green (Head-End Lift Cylinder) - Green (Port No.4). Black (Rod-End Lift Cylinder) - Black (Port No.3). Slowly retract lift cylinders. Masts will lower into mounting frames. Be sure notches in bottom of masts align with tab on each mounting frame.

Fully retract lift cylinders raising front wheels slightly off ground. Parking stand will raise into front weight bracket. Check that latch plate has risen fully and is tight against bottom of front weight bracket. Pull rearward on latch handle. Handle will drop down in hole. If handle does not drop into hole freely, adjustment of latch rod may be necessary. Pull back and drop latch handle down, locking plate over front weight bracket. Check to be sure latch plate is "FULLY" engaged. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park". Shut off tractor engine and remove key. Lower latch plate retainer. Fasten with pin and spring pin.

410 Loader Bucket Troubleshooting

Excessive wear on bucket cutting edge: Too much down pressure when scraping on a concrete surface - Replace cutting edge. Use FLOAT position. Use heavy-duty bucket equipped with reversible bolt-on cutting edge attachment.

Bucket cutting edge bent down: Edge has contacted a solid object while scraping forward with bucket dumped more than 15° below level - Position bucket 0-15° below level to protect the cutting edge while scraping forward. Lifting loads concentrated on the bucket edge - Distribute loads over wider area.

Bucket cutting edge bent up: Edge has contacted a solid object while scraping or leveling rearward with bucket dumped more than 40° below level - Position bucket at 40° or less below level to protect cutting edge while leveling rearward. Use FLOAT to reduce down pressure.

Removing and Storing 46 Backhoe - Start engine and run at slow idle. Lower stabilizers to the ground. Center boom and install swing lock pin if not installed. Remove boom locking pin if installed. Extend dipperstick and lower boom. Rotate bucket until top edge is parallel with ground. Stop engine. Remove step pins from both front hangers. Start engine and run at slow idle. Lower boom and stabilizers alternately, pivoting subframe on rear hanger, to lower front hanger end of subframe to ground. Lower boom or stabilizers slightly to free rear mounting support ofsubframe
weight. Drive JD 4115 tractor ahead slowly until both subframe hooks clear mounting support draft link pins. Lower 46 backhoe until main frame is resting on ground. Cycle boom control lever to relieve backhoe system pressure. Disconnect hydraulic hoses: Disconnect backhoe hoses from tractor Power Beyond. Connect hoses together and store hoses out of way on backhoe. Connect Power Beyond hose to female coupler.

Installing 54-inch Front Blade to Front Hitch - Put light coat of John Deere Moly High Temperature EP Grease or an equivalent onto L-pins (one on each side) J-pin and pivot-point. Place Blade on level surface. Lower front hitch. Pull out locking pin lever. Locking pin lever on each side of front hitch bracket must be in the unlatched position. Move machine forward slowly until slot on front hitch bracket lines up with pin on 54" front blade. Raise front hitch until slot locks into place under pin and locking pins. Lower front blade to the ground and park machine. Visually inspect to ensure both pins are fully engaged.

Checking Hydraulic Hoses and Fluid Level - Relieve pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other pressurized lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Remove transaxle hydraulic fluid dipstick. Check fluid level. Add fluid if necessary. Replace dipstick. Start engine. Move hydraulic control levers back and forth to check for leaks.

Checking for Bent Mower Blades - Park machine on a level surface. Disengage mower blades. Fully raise the mower. Lock the park brake. Stop the engine. Remove the key. Wait for engine and all moving parts to stop before you leave the operator’s seat. Block the 62" mower. Rotate blade 180 degree and measure the distance between other end of blade and surface. Check all blades. Install new blade if difference between measurements is more than 3mm (1/8 in.).
