John Deere 4010 Service Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily Checking

Check motor oil level. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Check transmission/hydraulic fluid level. If the transmission/hydraulic fluid is too low, fill the required volume.

Check air filter elements. Replace if necessary.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine idling, steering, service brakes and hand brake. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Oil Change And Filter Replacement

Every 200 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended engine oil type: Plus-50, SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, 5W-40. API Service Category CK-4, CJ-4, CI-4 PLUS, CI-4, CH-4. Engine oil capacity: 2 L (0.53 gal). After filling, check the engine oil level with a dipstick.

Oil filter changing. Engine oil filter part number: M806418. Flush the filter housing before the filter element replacement procedure. After installing a new filter, check the oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Transmission oil change (For Hydrostatic Models). Recommended oil type - Low Viscosity Hy-Gard, J20D. Transmission and Hydraulic Capacity - 10 L (2.6 gal). After replacing the transmission oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Changing hydraulic/transmission fluid filter (For Hydrostatic Model). Transmission fluid filter part number: LVU800405. After installation, checking the transmission fluid level is recommended. If required, add it.

Every 400 hours

Transmission oil change (For Gear Models). Recommended oil type - Low Viscosity Hy-Gard, J20D. Transmission/hydraulic oil capacity: 10 L (2.6 gal). After replacing the transmission oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Replace filter element in hydraulic/transmission system (For Gear Models). Part number of hydraulic/transmission filter element - LVA802833. After installation, checking the hydraulic fluid level is recommended. Add hydraulic/transmission fluid if it is low.

Every 500 hours

Change diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: CH15553. Check diesel fuel pump performance.

Change front axle oil. Front Axle Capacity - 3.4 L (0.90 gal). Front axle oil - GL-5 Lubricant 80W-90.

Inspect engine primary air filter. Replace as required. Part number - M113621.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - M123378.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Replace air cleaner elements.

Change transmission/hydraulic filter and transmission/hydraulic fluid.

Replace the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with fresh coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 2.4 L (0.63 gal).

Check all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check and service the battery.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injector pump.
