Massey Ferguson 1045 Service Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Check engine oil level. If the engine oil level is low, add fresh oil.

Check the transmission oil level. When the transmission fluid is low, add fresh oil.

Checking air filter element. Install a new filter element if necessary.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, add coolant in cooling system.

Check engine idling, steering unit, service brakes and hand brake. Repair any damage if required.

Every 100 Hours

Engine oil change. Recommended motor oil: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. How much is required: Engine Oil Capacity - 5.3 qt (5.0 L). When the procedure is complete, check the engine oil level.

Replacing engine oil filter. Filter part number - 72118856. Before installing a new filter, clean the filter housing from clogging. After installation, checking the oil level is recommended. Add oil if necessary.

Check tire inflation pressure. Add air to tires if necessary.

Check the battery. Clean battery terminals if necessary.

Check front axle oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Check hydraulic system fluid level. Add oil to hydraulic system if necessary.

Lubricate rear and front axle hub bearings.

Check tightness of wheel bolts and nuts.

Every 200 hours

Changing hydraulic/transmission oil. Recommended hydraulic/transmission fluid: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much is required: Transmission/hydraulic Oil Capacity - 11.6 gal (43.9 L). After completing the filling procedure, check transmission oil level.

Perform hydraulic filter element replacement. Part number of hydraulic filter element - 3435446M1 (Spin-on). After installation, checking the hydraulic fluid level is recommended. If required, add it.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Check and adjust the engine fan/alternator belt tension. Replace belt if worn.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 400 Hours

Engine primary air filter elements replacement. Change if necessary. Air filter part number - 70243163.

Inspect and service engine secondary. Replace if required. Part number: 3438717M1.

Change diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: 836218V92. Check diesel fuel pump operation.

Check cooling system for leaks. Top up if coolant is low.

Check engine idling. If necessary, adjust the idle speed on the engine.

Inspect all fittings and hoses. Tighten as recommended.

Change front axle lubricant.

Check and adjust the service and parking brakes.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 8.5 qt (8 L).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injectors.
