Massey Ferguson 1225 Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking procedure. If the engine oil level is low, add fresh oil.

Transmission oil level checking procedure. If transmission oil is too low, fill in new oil.

Check air filter element. Replace with a new one if necessary.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check engine idle speed, steering system, service brakes and hand brake. If you found a problem, fix it.

Every 150 Hours

Change engine oil. Recommended oil type: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. Oil system capacity: 2.9 qt (2.7 L). After filling, check the engine oil level with a dipstick.

Replace oil filter. Engine oil filter part number: 72201898. When installing a new filter, flush the filter housing from dirt. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. Add oil if necessary.

Inspect tires and inflate if necessary.

Inspect the battery. Clean the terminals as required.

Check front axle oil level. Top up as necessary.

Check hydraulic system fluid level. Fill the hydraulic system as required.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Tighten wheel bolts and nuts.

Every 200 hours

Transmission/hydraulic fluid change. Recommended fluid type: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. Transmission/hydraulic system capacity: 14.8 qt (14.0 L). After replacing the transmission/hydraulic fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Replace hydraulic filter (Hydrostatic Transmission). Hydraulic filter part number: 3608199M91 (Spin-on), 3605549M91 (Element). After installation, checking the hydraulic oil level is recommended. Add fluid if required.

Inspect and service air filter.

Clean the radiator grill from dirt and dust.

Check fan/alternator belt for wear. Replace if necessary.

Check the torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 300 Hours

Changing engine air filter elements. Air filter element part number: 3757472M91.

Change engine fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 3608255M1. Check injection pump settings.

Check the coolant in cooling system. Top up if required.

Check engine idle. Adjust if necessary.

Inspect all hoses and tubes. Tighten as required.

Front axle oil change. Front Axle Oil Type - Permatran. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 2.9 qt (2.7 L).

Adjust parking and service brakes.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 7.5 qt (7.1 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charging.

Check engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel fuel pump.
