Massey Ferguson 1230 Service Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If after checking the engine oil level is low, top it up.

Check transmission fluid level. If transmission oil is too low, add recommended volume.

Checking air filter element. Change if necessary.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check idle engine speed, steering system, service brakes and hand brake. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Every 150 Hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended oil type - 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. How much to add: Engine Oil Capacity - 4.2 qt (4.1 L). After completing the filling procedure, check motor oil level.

Replacing engine oil filter. Oil filter part number: 72201898. When replace the filter, flushing the housing is necessary. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Inspect front and rear tires. If required, inflate the tires.

Check battery charge. Charge the battery if necessary.

Check front axle oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Check hydraulic system fluid level. Add if required.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Check front and rear wheels. Tighten bolts and nuts as required.

Every 200 hours

Change transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended fluid type: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much to add: Transmission/hydraulic Oil Capacity - 12.7 qt (12.1 L). When the procedure is complete, check the transmission oil level.

Changing hydraulic filter element. Hydraulic filter element part number - 3709215M1 or 3609567M1. Check the hydraulic oil level after installing a new filter element. Add oil if required.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Inspect and adjust alternator/fan belt. Replace if belt is worn.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 300 Hours

Replacing engine primary air filter elements. Air filter part number - 3703703M91.

Perform inspection and changing of the engine secondary air filter. Part number - 3703704M91.

Replace diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: 3608255M1. Check injection pump adjustments.

Replace steering filter element and change oil. Steering filter element part number - 3709106M91. Steering Oil Type - Permatran. Steering Oil Capacity - 1.2 qt (1.1 L).

Check the coolant in radiator. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idle speeds. Adjust engine idle as required.

Inspect all fittings and hoses. Tighten as recommended.

Front axle fluid change. Front Axle Oil Type - Permatran. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 4.7 qt (4.5 L).

Check and adjust the brake system components.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Drain water from fuel tank, then replace the fuel filter.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 7.5 qt (7.1 L).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel pump.
