Massey Ferguson 1140 Service Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If after checking the engine oil level is low, top it up.

Check transmission oil level. If the transmission fluid is too low, fill the required volume.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check engine idle speed, steering unit, parking brake and service brakes. Repair any damage if required.

Every 50 Hours

Check tire pressure. If necessary, inflate the tires.

Check battery condition. Charge or replace.

Check front axle oil level. Fill as required.

Check fluid in hydraulic system. Add if required.

Check front and rear wheels. Tighten bolts and nuts as required.

Every 150 Hours

Replace engine oil. Motor oil type: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. How much to pour: Engine Oil Capacity - 5.1 qt (4.8 L). Check motor oil level after changing.

Replace oil filter. Filter part number - 3704178M1. When installing a new filter, flush the filter housing from dirt. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Engine air filter checking. Replace if required.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Every 300 hours

Replace diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 3702815M1. Check diesel fuel pump adjustment.

Changing transmission oil. Recommended transmission oil type: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much is needed: Transmission Oil Capacity - 6.6 gal (25 L). After installing a new filter, check that the transmission fluid level is correct.

Change transmission oil filter. Oil filter part number: 3703378M92. After installing a new filter, check the transmission fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.

Change hydraulic fluid and filter. Part number of hydraulic filter element - 3609567M1 (Spin-on). Hydraulic system capacity: 6.4 qt (6.1 L). After installation, checking the hydraulic oil level is recommended. Add oil if necessary.

Replace steering filter element. Part number: 3703203M91. Add fresh oil. Steering Oil Capacity - 2.6 qt (2.5 L).

Clean radiator surface from dirt.

Check fan/alternator belt for wear. Replace if necessary.

Check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Engine primary air filter elements replacement. Engine air filter part number: 3703703M91.

Check and clean the secondary air filter. Replace if necessary. Part number: 3703704M91.

Change front axle fluid. Front Axle Oil Type - Permatran. Oil Capacity - 6.4 qt (6.1 L).

Check radiator coolant. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idle speeds. If necessary, adjust the idle speed on the engine.

Inspect all hoses and tubes. Tighten as required.

Check brake adjustment.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the oil system.

Install a new air filter elements.

Change the fuel filter, but drain water from fuel tank first.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 7.4 qt (7.0 L).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charge.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injectors.
