Massey Ferguson 1260 Service Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Check the engine oil level. If after checking the engine oil level is low, top it up.

Check transmission oil level. When transmission oil is low, fill in new oil.

Check engine air filter element. Install a new filter if required.

Check engine coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine idle speed, steering unit, hand brake and service brakes. If you found a problem, fix it.

Every 150 Hours

Engine oil change. Recommended oil type: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. Engine oil capacity: 5.1 qt (4.8 L). After installing a new filter, check that the engine oil level is correct.

Changing oil filter. Oil filter part number: 3704178M1. Flush the filter housing before the filter element replacement procedure. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Check and inflate tires as required.

Check the battery. Clean battery terminals if necessary.

Checking the oil in front axle. Add if required.

Check the fluid level in hydraulic system. Fill the hydraulic system as required.

Lubricate the rear and front wheel bearings.

Tighten wheel nuts and bolts.

Every 200 hours

Clean radiator fins if fins are dirty.

Inspect and adjust fan/alternator belt. Replace if belt is worn.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Check and tighten the hoses and hose clamps.

Every 300 Hours

Replace transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended transmission/hydraulic oil type: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. Transmission/hydraulic system capacity: 6.6 gal (25 L). Check transmission oil level after changing.

Change filter element in hydraulic system. Hydraulic filter part number: 3609567M1 or 3703378M92. After installation, checking the hydraulic fluid level is recommended. If necessary, add it.

Engine air filter elements replacement. Primary air filter element part number: 3703703M91. Secondary air filter element part number: 3703704M91.

Replace fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - 3702815M1. Check injection pump settings.

Replace steering filter element and change oil. Steering filter element part number - 3703203M91. Steering Oil Type - Permatran. Steering Oil Capacity - 2.6 qt (2.5 L).

Check radiator coolant. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idle speed. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Change front axle oil. Front Axle Oil Type - Permatran. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 6.4 qt (6.1 L).

Adjust parking and service brakes.

Change filter and engine oil. Service oil system components.

Install a new engine primary and secondary air filter elements.

Change transmission/hydraulic oil.

Change hydraulic filter.

Replace steering filter element.

Drain water from fuel tank and change fuel filters.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with fresh coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 7.4 qt (7 L).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injection pump.
