Massey Ferguson 270 Service Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking procedure. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Transmission/hydraulic oil level checking procedure. If transmission/hydraulic oil is too low, add recommended volume.

Check engine air filters. Install a new filters if required.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, add coolant in cooling system.

Check engine idling, steering system, service brakes and parking brake. Repair any damage if required.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect all tires. Inflate tires if necessary.

Check battery charge level and charge if necessary.

Check front axle oil level. Fill as required.

Check the fluid level in hydraulic system. Add if required.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Inspect wheels and tighten bolts and nuts if necessary.

Every 250 hours

Engine oil change. Motor oil type: SAE 10W-30, 15W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. API service classification SE, SF, CC, CD. Oil system capacity: 8.0 qt (7.8 L). Check engine oil level after replacement.

Replacing engine oil filter. Oil filter part number: 1447048M2. Clean the filter housing from dirt before replacing the filter element. After installing a new filter, check the oil level. Add oil if required.

Replace engine fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - 3405419V1. Check injection pump settings.

Engine air filter elements checking. Replace as required. Engine primary air filter part number: 3824035V1 or 1678294V1. Engine secondary air filter part number: 3824036V1 or 1678295V1.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Check fan/alternator belt for wear. Change if necessary.

Check the tightening torque of the front and rear hub bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Changing transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended oil - Permatran 3, SAE 15W-30. How much is required: Transmission/Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 11 gal (41.6 L).. When the procedure is complete, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level.

Steering oil filter changing. Steering filter part number: 1662566V1. After replacing the filter, check the steering oil level. Add oil if required. Steering Oil Capacity - 1.2 qt (1.1 L).

Change filter element in hydraulic system. Hydraulic filter part number: 1810694V92. After installation, checking the transmission/hydraulic oil level is recommended. If required, add it.

Check cooling system for leaks. Top up if required.

Check engine idle. Adjust engine idle as required.

Check the hoses and fittings. Tighten as recommended.

Front axle fluid change. Steering Fluid Type - Permatran.

Check and adjust the brake system components.

Change filter and engine oil. Service lubrication system components.

Install a new engine air filter elements.

Install a new steering filter and fill with fresh steering oil.

Change hydraulic/transmission fluid.

Replace hydraulic filter.

Change the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 15 qt (14.2 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injection pump.
