Massey Ferguson 165 Service Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check the engine oil level. If the oil level is too low, fill in new oil.

Check the transmission oil level. If transmission oil is too low, fill in new oil.

Checking air filter. Replace if required.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check engine idling, steering system, parking brake and service brakes. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Every 100 Hours

Change engine oil. Recommended motor oil: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. Oil system capacity: 6.0 qt (5.7 L) for Continental/Perkins Gas, 8.5 qt (8 L) for Perkins Diesel. After filling, check the engine oil level with a dipstick.

Engine oil filter element replacement. Filter part number - 1882916V91 (Perkins Gas), 835817M91 (Continental Gas and LP), 837595V91 (Diesel). When change the filter, cleaning the housing is recommended. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Check tires and inflate if required.

Check battery charge. Charge the battery if necessary.

Check front axle oil level. Top up as necessary.

Check fluid in hydraulic system. Add if required.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Tighten wheel bolts and nuts.

Every 200 hours

Change fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - 836218V92 for Diesel. Gas Filter Kit - 521251M92, Gas Sediment Bowl - 505472M91.

Clean radiator surface from dirt.

Check fan/alternator belt for wear. Replace if necessary.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 500 Hours

Check radiator coolant. If coolant is low, top up.

Check engine idle speed. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Check and tighten the hoses and hose clamps.

Front axle oil change.

Check and adjust the parking and service brakes.

Every 750 Hours

Change transmission/hydraulic fluid. Transmission/hydraulic oil type - Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. Fluid capacity: 8 gal (30.3 L). After completing the filling procedure, check transmission/hydraulic oil level.

Hydraulic fluid filter elements replacement. Oil filter part number: 1911855V4 (Oil Cooler Lines), 886547V92 (Aux. Pump), 1871933M91/521451M1 (Lift Pump). When the filter is replaced, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.

Change steering oil and filter element. Filter element part number - 1023057M1 (Continental Gas and LP) and 1019235M91 (Perkins Gas/Diesel). Steering Oil Type - Permatran. Steering Oil Capacity - 1.3 qt (1.2 L).

Check and service engine primary and secondary air filter elements. Primary air filter part number: 1026131V92. Secondary air filter part number: 1094269M91.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Install a new engine primary and secondary air filter elements.

Replace transmission/hydraulic oil.

Replace hydraulic filter and steering filter element.

Drain water from fuel tank and replace fuel filters.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and add fresh coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 10.5 qt (9.9 L).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Check engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel fuel pump or carburetor.
