Massey Ferguson 180 Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking procedure. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Check transmission fluid level. If the transmission fluid is too low, add it.

Checking air filter. Install a new filter element if necessary.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is too low, add coolant in cooling system.

Check engine speed, steering, service brakes and parking brake. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Check tire inflation pressure. Add air to tires if necessary.

Check battery charge level and charge if necessary.

Checking the oil in front axle. Fill as required.

Check hydraulic system fluid level. Add oil if necessary.

Lubricate the rear and front wheel bearings.

Check tractor for lost or loose screws and nuts.

Every 100 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended oil type: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. How much to fill: Engine Oil Capacity - 9.5 qt (9 L) for Diesel and 6.0 qt (5.7 L) for Gas. After completing the filling procedure, check motor oil level.

Changing oil filter element. Oil filter part number: 1882916V91 (Perkins) and 1022145M91 (Continental Gas and LP). Flush the filter housing before the filter element replacement procedure. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. Add oil if necessary.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Check fan/alternator belt for wear. Replace if necessary.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 500 Hours

Replace engine fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 836218V92 (Diesel), 521251M92 (Gas). Check the correct operation of diesel fuel pump.

Check the coolant in cooling system. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idle speed. Adjust if necessary.

Check and tighten all hoses and clamps.

Change front axle fluid.

Adjust parking and service brakes.

Every 750 Hours

Transmission/hydraulic oil change. Transmission/hydraulic fluid type - Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. Transmission fluid capacity: 8 gal (30.3 L). After installing a new filter, check that the transmission/hydraulic fluid level is correct.

Replace hydraulic filter element. Part number of hydraulic filter element - 1911855V4 for Oil Cooler Lines, 886547V92 Box Element for Aux. Pump. After installing a new filter, check the hydraulic/transmission fluid level. Add hydraulic fluid if it is low.

Change steering oil and filter element. Filter element part number - 1052262M91 (Continental Gas and LP) and 1019235M91 (Perkins).Steering Oil Type - Permatran. Steering Oil Capacity - 3 qt (2.8 L).

Check and service engine primary and secondary air filter elements. Primary air filter part number: 1026131V92. Secondary air filter part number: 1094269M91.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and add new coolant. Cooling System Capacity: Gas - 10.5 qt (9.9 L), Diesel - 13.5 qt (12.8 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charge.

Check engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel injection pump/carburetor.
