Massey Ferguson 184-4 Maintenance Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, add fresh oil.

Transmission fluid level checking. When transmission oil is low, add recommended volume.

Checking air filter. Replace if necessary.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check idle engine speed, steering unit, hand brake and service brakes. Repair any malfunctions if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Check tire inflation pressure. Add air to tires if necessary.

Test battery charging. If the charge level is low, charge the battery.

Check front axle oil level. Add if required.

Check hydraulic oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Tighten wheel nuts and bolts.

Every 200 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended engine oil type: 10W-30, 15W-40, 20W-40. How much to fill: Engine Oil Capacity - 8.5 qt (8.1 L). After replacing the engine oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Oil filter element changing. Oil filter element part number: 1882916V91. Before replacement procedure, clean the filter housing from dirt. After replacing the filter, check the oil level. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Clean radiator grill from dirt.

Check alternator/fan belt wear. Replace worn belt.

Check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Changing transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended transmission/hydraulic oil: Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30. How much to fill. Oil Capacity - 6.5 gal (27.0 L). After adding transmission/hydraulic fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Replace hydraulic filter. Part number of hydraulic filter element - 307250M91. When the filter element is replaced, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. Add oil if required.

Change air filter elements. Air filter part number - 1420511M91.

Replace diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 3405419V1. Check injection pump adjustments.

Change oil in steering system. Steering Oil Type - Permatran. Steering Oil Capacity - 2 qt (1.9 L).

Check radiator coolant. Top up if coolant is low.

Check engine idle speed. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Inspect all fittings and hoses. Tighten if necessary.

Front axle lubricant change.

Check brake adjustment.

Change engine oil and filter. Service oil system components.

Install a new air filter elements.

Install a new hydraulic filter.

Change hydraulic/transmission oil.

Drain water from fuel tank and change fuel filter.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and refill with new coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 15.8 qt (15.0 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charge.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
