Massey Ferguson 235 Service Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Transmission/hydraulic oil level checking. When transmission/hydraulic oil is low, fill in new oil.

Checking air filter element. Change if required.

Check engine coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check idle engine speed, steering, hand brake and service brakes. Repair any damage if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect rear and front tires. If required, inflate the tires.

Test battery charging. If the charge level is low, charge the battery.

Check front axle oil level. Add if required.

Checking hydraulic fluid in system. Add if required.

Lubricate rear and front axle hub bearings.

Check tightness of wheel screws and nuts.

Every 200 hours

Engine air filter elements checking. Replace as required. Engine primary air filter part number: 1043326M91. Engine secondary air filter part number: 1043327M91.

Engine oil change. Recommended oil type - SAE 20, 20W, API service classification SB, SE, CF, CC. How much to fill: Engine Oil Capacity - 6.0 qt (5.7 L). Check motor oil level after changing.

Oil filter changing. Oil filter part number: 1069954M92 (Gas) and 1447082M2 (Diesel). Before replacement procedure, clean the filter housing from dirt. After installation, checking the oil level is recommended. Add oil if necessary.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Check and adjust the engine alternator/fan belt tension. Change the belt if worn.

Check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Replace fuel filter. Engine fuel filter element part number: 3405419V1.

Changing steering oil filter. Steering filter element part number: 1052262M91 (Gas) or 1052097V1 (Diesel). After installation, checking the fluid level is recommended. Add steering oil if it is low. Steering Oil Capacity - 1.0 qt (0.9 L).

Check and tighten the hoses and hose clamps.

Front axle oil change. Front Axle Oil Type - Permatran.

Every 750 Hours

Changing hydraulic/transmission oil. Oil type - Permatran 821XL, SAE 10W-30, MF M-1129 oil. Transmission/Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 8 gal (30.3 L). Check hydraulic/transmission oil level after changing.

Change hydraulic filter. Hydraulic filter element part number - 1053870M91 (10 micron), 1060005M92 (25 micron), 1687042V91 (Lift Pump). After installation, checking the hydraulic fluid level is recommended. If after checking the hydraulic fluid level is low, add it.

Check the coolant in radiator. If coolant is low, top up.

Check engine idle speed. Adjust engine idle as required.

Check and adjust the brake system components.

Change filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Replace engine primary and secondary air filters.

Change steering oil and filter.

Change hydraulic filters and add fresh oil to transmission/hydraulic system.

Replace the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 10.5 qt (10.2 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check and service the battery.

Check engine valve clearance.
