Ford 5200 Maintenance Information

Ford 5200 Service Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily Inspection

Check engine oil level. If the oil level is too low, fill in new oil.

Transmission/hydraulic oil level checking procedure. When transmission/hydraulic oil is low, fill in new oil.

Check engine air filter element. Change if necessary.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idle speed, steering unit, service brakes and parking brake. Repair any damage if necessary.

Oil And Filter Change

Every 300 Hours

Engine oil change. Recommended oil type: SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. How much to pour: Engine Oil Capacity - 8 qt (7.6 L). Fill with the new oil up to the upper notch on the dipstick.

Engine oil filter replacement. Oil filter part number: 86546611 or CFPN6731B (Cartridge) / 86546614 or E8NN6714AA (Spin-On). When change the filter, cleaning the housing is required. After installing a new filter, check the oil level. If necessary, add oil.

Check engine air filter element. Clean if necessary.

Inspect and service engine fuel filter.

Lubricate rear and front axle hub bearings.

Every 600 Hours

Change steering oil. Recommended steering oil: 134D, Gearlube LS 80W-90. How much to change: Steering Oil Capacity - 2 qt (1.9 L). After replacing the steering oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Change power steering filter. Steering oil filter part number: C7NN3N538A or EDPN3K758A. Check the steering fluid level after installing a new filter. If after checking the steering oil level is low, add it.

Changing air filter element. Engine air filter part number - 81866927 or 84493218.

Every 1200 Hours

Change transmission fluid. Recommended transmission fluid: 134D, SAE 10W-30. How much to change: Transmission Oil Capacity - 4.8 gal (18.2 L) with 8-Speed, 3 gal (11.4 L) with Select-O-Speed, 4.6 gal (17.4 L) with Dual Power. After replacing the transmission fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Change hydraulic oil. Recommended hydraulic oil: 134D, SAE 10W-30. Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 12 gal (45.4 L). Check the hydraulic oil level after changing.

Change transmission fluid filter. Transmission fluid filter part number: 309735 (Select-O-Speed). Check the transmission fluid level after installing a new filter. If after checking the transmission oil level is low, add it.

Hydraulic filter element replacement. Part number of hydraulic filter: 84277202 (Cartridge), 86546610 (Spin-On). After installing a new filter, check the hydraulic fluid level. Add hydraulic fluid if it is low.

Replace fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: 84535312 or EDPN9N074AA (Diesel). Check the correct operation of diesel fuel pump.

Change engine oil and filter. Check and clean the oil system.

Replace air cleaner element.

Replace transmission filter.

Replace hydraulic filter.

Change transmission fluid.

Change hydraulic fluid.

Install a new power steering filter and change the steering oil.

Replace the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 15.3 qt (14.5 L).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charge.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
