Ford 5000 Maintenance Data

Ford 5000 Service Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily Checking

Motor oil level checking. If after checking the engine oil level is low, top it up.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking. When transmission/hydraulic oil is low, add recommended volume.

Check air filter. Install a new filter if required.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check idle engine speed, steering system, service brakes and hand brake. If you found a problem, fix it.

Oil Change And Filter Replacement

Every 300 Hours

Change engine oil. Recommended oil type: SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. How much to fill: Engine Oil Capacity - 10 qt (9.5 L). After installing a new filter, check that the engine oil level is correct.

Engine oil filter changing. Engine oil filter part number - 86546611 or CFPN6731B (Cartridge) / 86546614 or E8NN6714AA (Spin-On). Clean the filter housing from dirt before replacing the filter element. After installation, checking the oil level is recommended. Add oil if necessary.

Engine air filter element checking. Clean as required.

Inspect the fuel filter and clean if necessary.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Every 600 Hours

Changing air filter element. Air filter part number - 81866927 or 84493218.

Change steering oil. Recommended steering oil: 134D, Gearlube LS 80W-90. How much is required: Steering Oil Capacity - 2 qt (1.9 L). Check steering fluid level after replacement.

Changing power steering oil filter. Steering oil filter part number: C7NN3N538A or EDPN3K758A. After installation, checking the steering fluid level is recommended. If required, add it.

Every 1200 Hours

Change transmission fluid. Recommended transmission fluid: 134D, SAE 10W-30. Oil Capacity - 2.8 gal (10.8 L) with 8-Speed, 2.9 gal (11.2 L) with Select-O-Speed, 4.6 gal (17.4 L) with Dual Power. Check transmission fluid level after replacement.

Change hydraulic oil. Recommended hydraulic oil: 134D, SAE 10W-30. How much is required: Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 9.9 gal (37.5 L).

Changing transmission oil filter. Transmission oil filter part number: 309735 (Select-O-Speed). After installation, checking the transmission fluid level is recommended. If required, add it.

Change hydraulic filter. Part number of hydraulic filter element - 84277202 (Cartridge), 86546610 (Spin-On). When installation procedure is complete, check the hydraulic oil level. Add hydraulic oil if it is low.

Change diesel fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: 84535312 or EDPN9N074AA (Diesel). Check injection pump adjustments.

Change engine oil and filter. Service oil system components.

Install a new air cleaner element.

Install a new transmission and hydraulic filters.

Change hydraulic and transmission oil.

Replace power steering filter and change steering oil.

Drain water from fuel tank and replace fuel filter.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with fresh coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 15.3 qt (14.5 L).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery charging.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel injector pump.
