Ford 1520 Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily Inspection

Motor oil level checking. If the oil level is too low, add new oil.

Check transmission/hydraulic fluid level. If transmission/hydraulic oil is too low, fill in new oil.

Checking air filter. Replace if necessary.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check idle engine speed, steering system, service brakes and hand brake. If you found a problem, fix it.

Oil And Filter Change

Every 100 Hours

Change engine oil. Recommended engine oil: SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. How much is needed: Engine Oil Capacity - 4.8 qt (4.5 L). Check engine oil level after replacement.

Inspect engine air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - 84541251.

Inspect the fuel filter and clean if necessary.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Every 200 Hours

Engine oil filter changing. Engine oil filter part number: 84475542 / SBA140516170. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is required. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. If required, add it.

Change fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - 87300039 / SBA360720020. Check the operation of injection pump.

Every 300 Hours

Changing transmission/hydraulic fluid. Recommended transmission/hydraulic fluid type - 134D, ATF Dexron II-D, SAE 10W-30. How much to change: Oil Capacity - 5.8 gal (22 L). Add transmission/hydraulic fluid to the upper mark on the dipstick.

Changing hydraulic filter element. Hydraulic filter element part number - 9846407, SBA340500990, SBA340500370 (HST). Check the transmission/hydraulic oil level after installing a new filter element. Add fluid if necessary.

Front axle fluid change. Front Axle Oil Type - 134D, Gearlube 80W-90. Steering Oil Type - 134D, Gearlube LS 80W-90. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 2.6 qt (2.5 L). Steering Oil Capacity - 1.9 qt (1.8 L).

Replace filter and engine oil. Service lubricating system components.

Install a new air cleaner element.

Replace hydraulic filter and fill the transmission/hydraulic system with fresh fluid.

Replace the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 4.2 qt (4 L) with gear transmission, 5.3 qt (5 L) with hydro transmission.

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Check and adjust injector pump.
