Ford 4830 Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily Checks

Motor oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Transmission/hydraulic oil level checking. When the transmission/hydraulic fluid is low, fill the required volume.

Checking engine air filters. Change if required.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine speed, steering system, service brakes and parking brake. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Oil Change And Filter Replacement

Every 300 Hours

Changing engine oil. Engine oil type - SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, SAE 10W. How much is required: Engine Oil Capacity - 8 qt (7.6 L). After installing a new filter, check that the engine oil level is correct.

Replace engine oil filter. Oil filter part number: 86546614 or E8NN6714AA. Before replacement procedure, clean the filter housing from dirt. After replacing the filter, check the oil level. If required, add it.

Inspect engine primary and secondary air filters. Clean as required.

Check engine primary and final fuel filter element. Service as required.

Check cab air filter element. Service if required.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Every 600 Hours

Changing steering oil. Steering oil type - 134D, SAE 10W-40. Steering oil capacity: 2.3 qt (2.2 L). After changing the steering oil, check the oil level.

Changing power steering filter. Steering oil filter part number: EDPN3K758A or C7NN3N538B.

Replacing air filter elements. Air filter part number - 84493216 or E9NN9B618AA, 86525008 or D6NN9601B.

Every 1200 Hours

Changing transmission fluid. Transmission fluid type - 134D, SAE 10W-40. Transmission fluid capacity: 3.2 gal (12 L) 8-Speed (8x2), 2.5 gal (9.5 L) 8-Speed (8x8), 3 gal (11.4 L) 16-Speed (16x8). After replacing the transmission fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Changing hydraulic oil. Hydraulic oil type - 134D, SAE 10W-40. Hydraulic Oil Capacity - 8.5 gal (32.2 L).

Changing hydraulic filter. Hydraulic filter element part number - 83912298. After installing a new filter, check the hydraulic oil. Add oil if necessary.

Replace diesel fuel filters. Fuel filter part number - 84535312 or EDPN9N074AA, 47377748 or D8NN9176AA. Check the efficiency of injection pump.

Change engine coolant filter. Coolant filter part number - E8NN8A424BB.

Replace cab air filter. Cab air filter part number - 83990257.

Change front axle oil. Front Axle Oil Type - 134D, SAE 10W-4. Front Axle Oil Capacity - 5.8 qt (5.5 L).

Change engine oil and filter. Service lubricating system components.

Change primary and secondary air cleaner elements.

Change transmission oil.

Change hydraulic fluid.

Change steering oil and filter.

Replace hydraulic oil filter.

Replace power steering filter.

Replace cab air filter.

Replace primary and final fuel filters, but drain water from fuel tank first.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Change engine coolant filter.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 14.4 qt (13.6 L).

Inspect all clamps and hoses.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel fuel pump.
