John Deere 2038R Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking procedure. If after checking the engine oil level is low, top it up.

Transmission fluid level checking procedure. If the transmission fluid is too low, add it.

Check engine air filter element. Change if required.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check idle engine speed, steering system, service brakes and hand brake. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect front and rear tires. If required, inflate the tires.

Check battery charging. Replace or charge the battery if required.

Check front axle oil level. Fill as required.

Check oil level in the hydraulic tank. Fill the hydraulic system as required.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Check wheels and tighten screws and nuts if required.

Every 200 hours

Engine oil change. Recommended motor oil type - Plus-50. How much is required - 4.5 L (1.18 gal). Fill with the new oil up to the upper notch on the dipstick.

Replace oil filter. Oil filter part number: M806419. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is recommended. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. Add oil if required.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid change. Recommended transmission/hydraulic oil: Hy-Gard. System capacity: 23.5 L (5.17 gal). After installing a new filter, check that the transmission/hydraulic oil level is correct.

Replacing transmission fluid filter. Transmission oil filter part number: LVA16054. After installing a new filter, check the transmission oil. Add fluid if necessary.

Perform filter replacement. Hydraulic filter part number: LVA14703. Check the hydraulic fluid level after installing a new filter. Add fluid if necessary.

Check the air filter element and clean if required.

Clean the radiator grill from dust and dirt.

Check fan/alternator belt wear. Replace belt if necessary.

Check the torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 400 Hours

Replacing engine primary air filter element replacement. Air filter element part number: M131802.

Replace secondary air filter element. Part number: M131803.

Change engine fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - M811032. Check diesel fuel pump performance.

Engine primary fuel filter replacement. Primary fuel filter part number: MIU800645.

Replace secondary fuel filter. Part number: MIU803127.

Check the coolant in radiator. Top up if coolant is low.

Check engine low idle speed. If necessary, adjust the idle speed on the engine.

Inspect all hoses and tubes. Tighten if necessary.

Front axle fluid change.

Check brake adjustment.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the oil system.

Install a new transmission filter and fill with fresh oil.

Change the fuel filter, but drain water from fuel tank first.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and add new coolant. Cooling system capacity: 5.2 L (1.14 gal).

Check all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery charge.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
