John Deere 2255 Maintenance Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, add fresh oil.

Transmission oil level checking. If transmission oil is too low, add recommended volume.

Check cab recirculation air filter. Part number - R65450. Change as required.

Check cab recirculation air filter. Part number - L38598. Change if necessary.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine idling, steering system, service brakes and parking brake. Repair any damage if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect all tires. Inflate tires if necessary.

Check the battery. Clean battery terminals if necessary.

Checking the oil in front axle. Top up as necessary.

Check hydraulic system oil level. Add oil to hydraulic system if necessary.

Lubricate the front axle bearing assembly.

Tighten wheel nuts and bolts.

Every 250 hours

Change engine primary air filter. Engine air filter part number: AR84228. Change primary air filter if air cleaner indicator light continues to glow.

Check the engine secondary and clean if required. Part number: AE31724. Replace at every third change of primary air filter.

Remove dirt from radiator fins with a brush.

Check fan/alternator belt for wear. A worn belt should be replaced.

Check the torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Change engine oil. Recommended oil - Plus-50 or SAE 15W-40, classification CD, CC, SD. How much to add - 7.0 L (1.85 gal). After filling, check the engine oil level with a dipstick.

Oil filter changing. Filter part number - T19044. When changing the filter, clean the dirt inside the filter housing. After replacing the filter, check the oil level. If required, add it.

Hydraulic/transmission oil change. Recommended oil: Hy-Gard. How much is required: Collarshift transmission - 28.0 L (7.4 gal), Synchronized transmission - 45.0 L (11.9 gal), additional with oil cooler and reservoir - 6.0 L (1.6 gal). When the procedure is complete, check the hydraulic/transmission fluid level.

Transmission fluid filter replacement. Transmission fluid filter part number: AR75603. When the filter is replaced, check the transmission fluid level. Add transmission fluid if it is low. Change return flow filter as well.

Changing hydraulic return flow filter. Part number of hydraulic filter: AL77061 / AL56469. Check the hydraulic oil level after installing a new filter element. Add oil if required.

Change fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: AR50041. Check the efficiency of fuel injection pump.

Check the coolant in cooling system. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idling. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Inspect all tubes and hoses. Tighten if necessary.

Front axle lubricant change.

Check and adjust the brake system components.

Drain water from fuel tank and change fuel filters.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill engine cooling system. Cooling system capacity: 10 L (2.6 gal).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Check and adjust injection pump.
