John Deere 4005 Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking. If after checking the engine oil level is low, top it up.

Check hydraulic/transmission fluid level. When hydraulic/transmission oil is low, add recommended volume.

Check engine air filters. Change if necessary.

Check the coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, fill the system.

Check engine speed, steering system, service brakes and parking brake. If damages are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Check tires and inflate if required.

Check battery charge level and charge if necessary.

Checking the oil in front axle. Top up as necessary.

Check the hydraulic oil level in system. If necessary, add hydraulic oil to the system.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Inspect wheels and tighten bolts and nuts if necessary.

Every 200 hours

Change engine oil. Recommended oil - Plus-50, SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, 5W-30, SAE 30. API Service Category CH or higher. How much to fill: Engine oil capacity: 5.3 L (1.4 gal). Check engine oil level after replacement.

Oil filter changing. Engine oil filter part number: M806419. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is required. When installation is complete, check the oil level. If necessary, add it.

Changing transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended transmission/hydraulic oil: Low Viscosity Hy-Gard, JDM J20C. Transmission/hydraulic oil capacity: 26 L (6.9 gal). Check oil level after changing.

Transmission/hydraulic oil filter replacement. Oil filter part number: LVA13065. After installing a new filter, check the transmission/hydraulic oil. If necessary, add it.

Check engine primary air filter element. Change if necessary. Air filter part number - RE68048.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - RE68049.

Clean the radiator grill from dirt and dust.

Inspect the fan/alternator belt and adjust the belt tension as required.

Check the tightening torque of the hub bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Replace engine fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: MIU800645 and M811032. Check diesel fuel pump adjustment.

Check cooling system for leaks. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine low idle speed. If necessary, adjust the engine idle speed.

Check the tubes and hoses. Tighten if necessary.

Front axle lubricant change. Front Axle Oil - GL-5 Lubricant 80W-90. Front axle capacity: 7.5 L (1.98 gal).

Check brake adjustment.

Replace filter and engine oil. Service lubricating system components.

Replace engine primary and secondary air filter elements.

Install a new transmission/hydraulic filter and fill with fresh transmission/hydraulic oil.

Drain water from fuel tank and replace fuel filter.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and add new coolant. Cooling system capacity: 5.8 L (1.53 gal).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery charge.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injectors.
