John Deere 4066R Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Engine oil level checking. If after checking the oil level is low, add it.

Check the transmission oil level. When transmission oil is low, add recommended volume.

Check air filter element. Replace with a new one if necessary.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine speed, steering system, service brakes and hand brake. If you found a problem, fix it.

Every 50 Hours

Clean or replace cab fresh air filter. Part number: MIU10010.

Inspect cab recirculation air filter. Part number - MIU10011. Clean or replace as required.

Checking the air pressure of tyres. Inflate if required.

Check battery charging. Replace or charge the battery if required.

Check front axle oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Checking hydraulic fluid in system. Add oil to hydraulic system if necessary.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Tighten wheel nuts and bolts.

Every 200 hours

Change engine oil. Recommended oil - Plus-50, Torq-Gard Supreme, SAE 10W-40, 5W-30 API Service Classification CJ-4, or CK-4. How much to fill: Oil system capacity - 5.4 L (1.4 gal). Add oil to the upper mark on the dipstick.

Oil filter changing. Engine oil filter part number: M806419. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is required. When the filter is replaced, check the oil level. Add oil if required.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Check fan/alternator belt tension. Adjust as required.

Check the tightening torque of the hub bolts.

Every 400 Hours

Replace hydraulic/transmission fluid. Recommended hydraulic/transmission oil type: Hy-Gard (J20D). How much to change: Transmission/hydraulic fluid capacity - 47 L (12.4 gal). After changing the transmission fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Change transmission oil filter. Transmission oil filter part number: RE45864. When the filter is replaced, check the transmission/hydraulic oil level. Add fluid if necessary.

Change hydraulic filter. Part number of hydraulic filter: LVA10419. After installing a new filter, check the hydraulic fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.

Check and replace the engine primary air filter. Part number: RE68048.

Change engine secondary air filter elements if required. Secondary air filter element part number: RE68049.

Replace diesel primary fuel filter. Primary fuel filter part number - MIU802421. Check injection pump settings.

Replace engine final fuel filter. Final filter part number - MIU803127.

Check diesel particulate filter (DPF). Replace as required. Part number - MIU802216.

Check the coolant in cooling system. If coolant is low, top up.

Check engine low idle speed. Adjust if necessary.

Inspect all hoses and tubes. Tighten as recommended.

Change front axle lubricant.

Adjust parking and service brakes.

Change filter and engine oil. Service lubrication system components.

Change engine primary/secondary air filter elements.

Replace transmission filter.

Install a new hydraulic filter and fill with fresh transmission/hydraulic oil.

Drain water from fuel tank and change primary and final fuel filters.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling system capacity for OOS tractors - 6 L (1.5 gal), for Cab tractors - 8.0 L (2.1 gal).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
