John Deere 4300 Periodic Maintenance

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check motor oil level. If the oil level is too low, fill in new oil.

Transmission/hydraulic oil level checking procedure. When the transmission/hydraulic fluid is low, add fresh oil.

Check engine primary/secondary air filters. Replace with a new one if necessary.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is too low, add coolant in cooling system.

Check engine speed, steering unit, hand brake and service brakes. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Check tyre pressure. If the tyre pressure is low, inflate the tyres.

Check the battery. Clean battery terminals if necessary.

Check front axle oil level. Add if required.

Checking hydraulic oil in system. Add oil to hydraulic system if necessary.

Lubricate the rear and front wheel bearings.

Check wheels and tighten nuts and bolts if required.

Every 200 hours

Changing engine oil. Recommended oil type: Plus-50, SAE 15W-40, 10W-30, 5W-30. API Service Classification SG or higher. Lubricating system capacity - 4.3 L (1.13 gal). After installing a new filter, check that the engine oil level is correct.

Replacing engine oil filter. Engine oil filter part number: M806419. Before installing a new filter, clean the filter housing from clogging. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. Add oil if required.

Change transmission/hydraulic fluid. Recommended fluid type: Low Viscosity Hy-Gard, JDM J20D or J20C. How much to fill: Transmission/Hydraulic System Capacity with Gear Transmission - 24 L (6.3 gal), with Hydrostatic Transmission - 26 L (6.9 gal). After installing a new filter, check that the transmission/hydraulic fluid level is correct.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid filter replacement. Oil filter part number: LVA10419. Check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level after installing a new filter. Add oil if necessary.

Clean the radiator grill from dust and dirt.

Inspect alternator/fan belt. Replace if necessary.

Check wheel bolt torque.

Every 500 Hours

Check engine primary air filter element. Change if necessary. Air filter part number - M131802.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - M131803.

Change engine fuel filter. Engine fuel filter part number: M801101. Check the operation of injection pump.

Check the coolant in radiator. Top up if required.

Check engine idle. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Inspect and tighten the hoses and hose clamps.

Front axle fluid change. Front Axle Capacity - 4.5 L (1.19 gal). Front Axle Oil Type - Low Viscosity Hy-Gard.

Check and adjust the service and parking brakes.

Annually

Change filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Replace engine air filter elements (primary and secondary).

Change transmission/hydraulic filter and fill the transmission/hydraulic system with fresh fluid.

Change the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling System Capacity - 5.7 L (1.51 gal).

Inspect all hoses and clamps.

Check and service the battery.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injection pump.
