John Deere 5083E Periodic Maintenance

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Motor oil level checking. If the engine oil level is low, fill in fresh oil.

Transmission fluid level checking procedure. When transmission oil is low, fill in new oil.

Check air filter element. Install a new filter if required.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check idle engine speed, steering unit, parking brake and service brakes. Repair any damage if required.

Every 50 Hours

Check tyre pressure. If the tyre pressure is low, inflate the tyres.

Check battery charge. Charge the battery if necessary.

Check front axle oil level. Fill as required.

Check fluid level in the hydraulic tank. Add if required.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Tighten wheel bolts and nuts.

Every 300 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended motor oil: Plus-50. Oil system capacity: 8.5 L (2.24 gal). Check motor oil level after changing.

Change engine oil filter. Oil filter part number: RE504836. Before replacing, remove dirt from the filter housing. After installation, checking the oil level is recommended. If necessary, add oil.

Replace fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: RE522868. Check the correct operation of injection pump.

Changing or cleaning cab recirculation air filter. Part number: RE195491.

Check and service cab fresh air filter. Part number: RE198488. Replace if necessary.

Clean the radiator with a brush if the fins are dirty.

Inspect fan/alternator belt. Change if necessary.

Check the tightening torque of the front and rear hub bolts.

Every 600 Hours

Change transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended oil type - Hy-Gard. How much is needed: Capacity - 43.5 L (11.5 gal). After changing the transmission/hydraulic fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Changing transmission/hydraulic fluid filter. Transmission/hydraulic fluid filter part number - RE45864 or RE197065. Check the transmission oil level after installing a new filter. Add oil if necessary.

Check the coolant in radiator. Top up if required.

Check engine idle speeds. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Check and tighten all hoses and clamps.

Front axle fluid change.

Check and adjust the parking and service brakes.

Replace filter and engine oil. Service oil system components.

Change engine primary and secondary air filter. Primary filter part number - KV16429/RE253518. Secondary filter part number - AT171854/RE253519. Replace after every 1800 hours or annually.

Replace transmission/hydraulic filter and add fresh fluid to hydraulic system.

Drain water from fuel tank and change fuel filter.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling system capacity: 11.4 L (3 gal).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery charging.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust fuel injection nozzle.
