John Deere 5205 Maintenance Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check motor oil level. If the oil level is too low, fill in new oil.

Check transmission/hydraulic oil level. When the transmission/hydraulic fluid is low, add fresh oil.

Checking engine primary/secondary air filter elements. Install a new filter element if necessary.

Check radiator coolant level. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idling, steering, hand brake and service brakes. If malfunctions are found, repair it.

Every 50 Hours

Check tire pressure. If necessary, inflate the tires.

Test battery charging. If the charge level is low, charge the battery.

Check front axle oil level. Fill as required.

Check oil in hydraulic system. Add if required.

Lubricate front and rear axle hub bearings.

Check front and rear wheels. Tighten bolts and nuts as required.

Every 250 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended motor oil: Plus-50, SAE 15W-40, 10W-40, 5W-40, 5W-30. API Service Category CJ-4, CI-4, CH-4, CG-4. How much is required: Engine oil system capacity: 7.5 L (7.9 qt). When the procedure is complete, check the engine oil level.

Change engine oil filter. Engine oil filter part number: T19044. Before replacing, remove dirt from the filter housing. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. Add oil if necessary.

Replace hydraulic/transmission oil. Recommended fluid type: Hy-Gard, J20C, J20D. Transmission/hydraulic capacity: 32 L (8.5 gal). When the procedure is complete, check the hydraulic/transmission fluid level.

Replace filter element in hydraulic/transmission system. Part number of hydraulic/transmission filter element - RE45864. When installation procedure is complete, check the hydraulic oil level. Add oil if necessary.

Check engine primary air filter element. Change if necessary. Air filter part number - RE68048/AP33330.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace as required. Part number - RE68049/AP33331.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Check and adjust the engine fan/alternator belt tension. Replace belt if worn.

Check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 500 Hours

Replace diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: RE60021. Check injection pump settings.

Check radiator coolant. Top up if required.

Check engine idle speed. If necessary, adjust the idle speed on the engine.

Check and tighten the hoses and hose clamps.

Front axle fluid change. Front axle capacity: 4.5 L (4.8 qt).

Adjust service and parking brakes.

Change filter and engine oil. Check and clean the lubrication system.

Change engine primary and secondary air cleaner elements.

Install a new hydraulic/transmission filter.

Change hydraulic/transmission fluid.

Replace the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Flush the cooling system and refill with fresh coolant. Cooling system capacity: 9.5 L (2.51 gal).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery charge.

Adjust engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust injection pump.
