John Deere 3255 Maintenance Intervals

Every Ten Hours or Daily

Check motor oil level. If the engine oil level is low, add fresh oil.

Transmission/hydraulic fluid level checking. When transmission/hydraulic oil is low, fill in new oil.

Checking engine air filters. Replace if required.

Check the coolant level in cooling system. If the coolant level is low, top it up.

Check engine speed, steering, hand brake and service brakes. If you found a problem, fix it.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect all tires. Inflate tires if necessary.

Test battery charging. If the charge level is low, charge the battery.

Checking the oil in front axle. Top up as necessary.

Checking hydraulic oil in system. Add oil if necessary.

Lubricate rear and front axle hub bearings.

Check tractor for loose or lost nuts and screws.

Every 250 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended engine oil type: Plus-50, SAE 10W-40, 15W-40, 10W-30. API Service Category CD, CC, SD. Lubricating system capacity - 11.5 L (3.0 gal). After adding engine oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Changing oil filter. Filter part number - T19044. When change the filter, cleaning the housing is required. After installation, checking the oil level is recommended. If necessary, add oil.

Inspect cab recirculation air filter. Replace as required. Part number: R65450/L38598.

Check alternator/fan belt tension. Adjust as required.

Check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 400 Hours

Clean engine primary air filter elements. Replace primary air filter if air cleaner indicator light continues to glow. Air filter part number - AZ30757.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Part number - AL67195. Never clean. Replace at every third change of primary air filter.

Check the coolant in radiator. Top up if coolant is low.

Clean radiator fins from dirt.

Every 600 Hours

Change diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter element part number: AR50041. Check diesel fuel pump operation.

Replace transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended oil - Hy-Gard. How much to fill: Transmission/hydraulic capacity: 53 L (14.0 gal) with MFWD, 50 L (13.2 gal) without MFWD. After changing the transmission/hydraulic fluid, check the level with a dipstick.

Replacing transmission/hydraulic oil filter. Transmission/hydraulic fluid filter part number: AR75603. When the filter is replaced, check the transmission fluid level. Add oil if necessary.

Perform hydraulic return flow filter replacement. Hydraulic return flow filter part number: AL77061/AL56469/RE34958. After replacing the filter element, check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level. If necessary, add it.

Check hydrostatic steering oil filter. Change every 1200 hours or annually. Part number - AL31413.

Check engine idle speeds. Adjust engine idle if necessary.

Check the tubes and hoses. Tighten as required.

Front axle fluid change. Front axle capacity: 6.5 L (1.7 gal).

Check and adjust the service and parking brakes.

Replace filter and engine oil. Check and clean the oil system.

Change engine primary/secondary air filters.

Change transmission/hydraulic fluid and transmission/hydraulic oil filter.

Install a new hydraulic return flow filter.

Replace hydrostatic steering oil filter.

Drain water from fuel tank, then replace the fuel filter.

Change cab recirculation air filter.

Clean oil cooler fins and radiator.

Drain, flush and refill cooling system. Cooling system capacity: 19 L (5.0 gal).

Check all hoses and clamps.

Check level of battery electrolyte.

Check engine valve clearance.

Check and adjust fuel pump.
