John Deere 2720 Maintenance Intervals

Every 10 Hours or Daily

Check motor oil level. If the engine oil level is low, add fresh oil.

Check transmission/hydraulic fluid level. If the transmission/hydraulic fluid is too low, add it.

Check engine primary and secondary air filters. Replace if required.

Check coolant level in radiator. If the coolant level is low, add it.

Check engine idle speed, steering system, hand brake and service brakes. Repair any damage if necessary.

Every 50 Hours

Inspect rear and front tires. If required, inflate the tires.

Check battery charge level and charge if necessary.

Checking the oil in front axle. Add oil if necessary.

Check hydraulic oil level. Add oil to hydraulic system if necessary.

Lubricate the front axle wheel bearings.

Check tractor for lost or loose screws and nuts.

Every 200 hours

Replace engine oil. Recommended motor oil: Plus-50, SAE 10W-40, 15W-40, 10W-30. API Service Category CD, CC, SD. How much is required: Engine Oil Capacity - 3.4 L (0.89 gal). After adding engine oil, check the level with a dipstick.

Replacing engine oil filter. Filter part number - M806419. Clean the filter housing from dirt before replacing the filter element. Check the oil level after installing a new filter. Add oil if it is low.

Change transmission/hydraulic oil. Recommended oil - Hy-Gard. Transmission and Hydraulic System Capacity - 17.5 L (4.6 gal). After completing the filling procedure, check transmission/hydraulic fluid level.

Changing transmission/hydraulic fluid filter. Transmission/hydraulic oil filter part number: LVU800097. Check the transmission fluid level after installing a new filter. Add fluid if required.

Change front axle oil. Front Axle Oil Type - GL-5. Front Axle Capacity - 3.9 L (1.03 gal).

Every 250 Hours

Check engine primary air filter element. Replace annually, and as required. Air filter part number - M131802.

Inspect engine secondary air filter element. Replace annually, and as required. Part number - M131803.

Clean the radiator fins with a brush from dust.

Inspect and adjust fan/alternator belt. Replace if belt is worn.

Check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts.

Every 400 Hours

Change diesel fuel filter. Fuel filter part number - MIU800645. Check the efficiency of fuel injection pump.

Check radiator coolant. Add coolant if necessary.

Check engine idle. Adjust if necessary.

Check the hoses and tubes. Tighten as recommended.

Check and adjust the brake system components.

Annually

Change filter and engine oil. Service lubrication system components.

Replace engine air cleaner elements.

Change transmission/hydraulic fluid.

Replace transmission/hydraulic filter.

Change the fuel filter by first drain water from fuel tank.

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.

Flush the cooling system and refill with fresh coolant. Cooling System Capacity - 4 L (1.05 gal).

Inspect all clamps hoses and hoses.

Check battery electrolyte level.

Check and adjust valve clearance.

Inspect and adjust diesel fuel pump.
